Techno is programmed on request rather than sitting on the fixed calendar. A member or a host proposes a date, and SplitClub sources the vessel, the crew and the sound around it — the cost of the day is then split across the group that claims the places.
The sound
Machine music. Relentless kick, industrial texture, very little melody and no interest in a chorus. Techno is the least forgiving genre to program badly and the most rewarding to program well, because it depends entirely on the system and the room.
Techno in Miami
Miami's techno scene is smaller than its house scene but far more devoted, and it is concentrated downtown rather than on the beach. The terrace at Club Space is the reference point, and III Points has brought a serious international techno lineup to Wynwood every year since 2013.
How the club programs it
The club's hardest format and the one it programs least often, deliberately. Techno days run later and end after dark, and the vessel is chosen for a system that can hold low end in open air without distorting.
Every SplitClub day works the same way underneath the music. The club arranges one vessel for one date, with its captain and crew, and programs the route, the hours and the sound. Members claim single places rather than hiring a boat. Contributions are held through our state-of-the-art payment processing system until the day is fully funded — if it does not fill, it does not sail and nobody is charged.

Frequently asked questions
Does techno work on a boat?
It works if the system is right. Open air kills low end, so the club sizes the setup for the deck rather than bringing a room system outdoors.
Are techno days at night?
They run latest of any club format and finish after dark. A daytime techno day is programmed at tech-house tempo instead.
How often does SplitClub run techno?
Less often than house. It is a standing format rather than a weekly one, and it is usually member-proposed.
