The sound
Darker and more cinematic than house, more musical than techno. Long minor-key synth lines, heavy reverb, a kick that stays constant while everything above it moves. It is the sound most associated with sunset sets in open-air venues, which is not an accident — it was largely developed for exactly that setting.
