Dancehall & Soca on the water.

Programmed as a day party at the loud end of the club's range, most often in the run-up to Miami Carnival in October. Deck space is prioritised over shade.

90–110 dancehall, 145–165 soca BPM · Kingston, Jamaica and Trinidad

Dancehall & Soca is programmed on request rather than sitting on the fixed calendar. A member or a host proposes a date, and SplitClub sources the vessel, the crew and the sound around it — the cost of the day is then split across the group that claims the places.

The sound

Dancehall is Jamaican, built on riddims that dozens of artists voice separately, sparse and heavy. Soca is Trinidadian carnival music — faster, brassier and built for a road march rather than a room. They share an audience and are usually programmed together.

Dancehall & Soca in Miami

Miami's Caribbean population is one of the largest in the United States, and Miami Carnival every October is the anchor event for soca in the city. Dancehall runs year-round through Miami's Jamaican community and across the city's Caribbean rooms.

How the club programs it

Programmed as a day party at the loud end of the club's range, most often in the run-up to Miami Carnival in October. Deck space is prioritised over shade.

Every SplitClub day works the same way underneath the music. The club arranges one vessel for one date, with its captain and crew, and programs the route, the hours and the sound. Members claim single places rather than hiring a boat. Contributions are held through our state-of-the-art payment processing system until the day is fully funded — if it does not fill, it does not sail and nobody is charged.

Frequently asked questions

Does SplitClub run soca days around Miami Carnival?

Carnival-season days are programmed on request. Members and hosts propose the date and the club builds the day around it.

What is the difference between dancehall and soca?

Dancehall is Jamaican and slower; soca is Trinidadian carnival music and much faster. They are usually programmed in the same day.

Is this a loud format?

Yes. It is programmed as a day party rather than a cruise.

SplitClub is application-only in every city. The guest list is the product, so vetting is the gate rather than price. Apply for membership →
