Season letter · Issue 01

The European summer, from the water.

The yachting events that defined 2026, the clubs worth the trip, and where we're looking next.

SplitClub · Updated September 30, 2026

The Mediterranean summer runs on a calendar, not the weather. Here is what happened on the water this year, from the Grand Prix in June to the last regatta of the season, and the rooms people came ashore for.

Monaco

The Grand Prix moved to June this year. Race weekend ran June 4 to 7, and Kimi Antonelli won for Mercedes, leading every lap. He is the youngest driver ever to win in Monaco.

Then came the Monaco Yacht Show. Its 35th edition ran September 23 to 26 in Port Hercule, with around 120 superyachts and more than 560 exhibitors. Forty-three of the yachts were 2026 deliveries making their world premiere.

The biggest in the harbor was Oceanco's 111-metre Leviathan. Lürssen's 102-metre Nixie and Amels' 80-metre Pangea debuted too, and Ares Yachts' 62-metre Simena was the largest sailing yacht. The 70 yachts listed for sale were asking around $2.5 billion between them.

Cannes

Cannes filled three times. The Film Festival ran May 12 to 23. Cannes Lions followed June 22 to 26, and Spotify Beach went with it: Raye, Central Cee and Mike D on the Tuesday, then Lykke Li, Mumford & Sons and a John Summit set on the Wednesday.

The Cannes Yachting Festival ran September 8 to 13 across the Vieux Port and Port Canto. It was billed at more than 700 boats, from 5 to 50 metres, and around 150 world premieres.

Saint-Tropez

The season on this gulf opens and closes under sail. The Rolex Giraglia raced between Saint-Tropez and Genoa June 13 to 17.

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez runs until Sunday, October 4. The 28th edition has 253 yachts, including a record 50 Maxis and three J-Class: Hanuman, Rainbow and Svea. It is the one week a year the harbor belongs to sail.

The clubs

Ibiza

The island opened in the last week of April and closes in the first two weeks of October. Pure Pacha goes first, on October 1. Calvin Harris closes Ushuaïa on October 2. Solomun +1 has its last Sunday at Pacha on October 4. Hï Ibiza closes on October 9 with Black Coffee, Skepta and The Martinez Brothers. October 10 is the big night: ANTS at Ushuaïa, Pacha's own closing and UNVRS, which is finishing its second season. Circoloco closes DC-10 last, on Monday, October 12.

The beach clubs run later. Blue Marlin at Cala Jondal closes October 4, Beachouse October 17 and Nassau October 24. Casa Jondal, next door to Blue Marlin, was named best chiringuito of 2026 by Tapas magazine.

Mykonos

Nammos on Psarou opened May 1 and Scorpios on Paraga opened May 10. Both are still the island's defining rooms: a long lunch that becomes something else at sunset. Alemagou at Ftelia, SantAnna on Paraga and Principote at Panormos round out the list.

Saint-Tropez

Pampelonne still runs through Club 55, open until November 1. Loulou à Ramatuelle closes October 3, Verde Beach closed September 26 and Nikki Beach September 13. Bagatelle is on the same beach. After dark, Les Caves du Roy at the Byblos has its last nights on October 2 and 3.

Cannes

La Guérite is on Île Sainte-Marguerite, a short crossing from the Croisette, and you can only get there by boat. Its season ends October 11. Bâoli reopened this year, completely redesigned, at Port Pierre Canto. Medusa and Nammos returned to Palm Beach on the Pointe Croisette, and the Martinez was named a Palace.

A week, or a day

If you've been on a YachtWeek, you know why people go back. It's a seven-day skippered sailing week on monohulls or catamarans in Croatia, Greece, the Aeolian Islands and Mallorca, and further afield in Tahiti, Mexico and Thailand. More than 50,000 people have sailed with them since 2006, and about 30% come solo.

That's a whole vacation. SplitClub is one day: something you do on a Saturday at home, or on a free day either side of a trip like that. The two fit together. If you run weeks like these, we'd like to hear from you.

Where we're looking next

This summer SplitClub sailed in Miami and nowhere else. The Mediterranean is where we're looking next: Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Ibiza, Mykonos and the Amalfi Coast are at the top of the list.

There are no dates yet. When there are, members see them in the app first and read about them here second.

The boat was never the hard part. The room was.
